“Pollutec 2010” from 11/30 to 12/3 (4days) in France, Lyon.

We attended the environment exhibition “Pollutec 2010” from 11/30 to 12/3 (4days) in France, Lyon.

The day before the openings, the weather was just perfect.

Exhibitors are coming in one after another to get ready for tomorrow. The exhibition halls are so huge, will takes more than whole day to look through.
I imagined our booth will be very crowded just like we experienced in Malaysia, Singapore and Shanghai exhibitions, but then…
The opening day. I saw barely a few visitors.

People walking around were mostly “exhibitors”.
Many flights in European countries have canceled due to a sudden snow, so people couldn’t come. Too bad.
So, what we did was checking the directory book carefully and found the companies we are interested in to visit their booth for marketing (to introduce our product).

Then the next day (second day of the exhibition),

Here comes a big snow in Lyon.

Even though the weather was horrible, our booth got enough visitors constantly.
(Maybe because JETRO “Japan External Trade Organization” gave us the front row. Thank you, JETRO!)

Luckily, our plant was selected as remarkable technology by ENVIRONMENT MAGAZIN.

Some people who saw this article visited our booth.

By the way, each booth has designed so nicely in this exhibition.

Beautiful French furniture makes booths to be outstanding.

There was a cow, and

even a monster made of garbage. Interesting eye-grabbing decorations were everywhere.

This is a big booth of “SITA FRANCE”. A person in the waste management department came to our booth twice. He explained to me the situation of waste plastics-to-oil technology in Europe.
“Your plant has yield 80% If it is viable, there is a big demand in Europe since it’s currently about 50% maximum.” He said.
High yield is one of the features, so we would like to introduce our technology to Europe with confidence.

Well, around the lunch time, I saw many, many people starting toasting with wine.

So different as other exhibitions…, interesting!!

Actually I visited our neighbor booth during the lunch time to introduce our product.
These nice people not only accepted my sales pitch, but also gave me a tasty white wine.

They gave me many technical inquiries.
This company makes particular kind of PE pipes. Their plastic scraps are mechanically recycled currently. But they seemed interested in our technology, and trying to learn the cost efficiency.

Recycling industries for municipal garbage were very advanced more than we expected. Segregation plant, biogas plant, incineration power plant, etc… all very advanced. Also our competitors exhibited their “plastic-to-oil recycling plant” as well.
Under this situation, our technology still got focused on because of its high yield (more than 80%). We are very glad about that.

After four days of exhibition, we went home. We totally enjoyed this beautiful Russian scenery from the airplane.
(We couldn’t get sightseeing in France due to the snow, so we enjoyed this scenery instead)
